Bred by Jacques Besnier (France, 1836).
Class:
China / Bengale.  
Bloom:
Red, dark purple outer petals, ages to darker .  Center crown.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, very full (41+ petals) bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Light green foliage.  3 to 5 leaflets.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).
