Rosa arkansana var. suffulta (Greene) Cockerell (Bull. Torrey Bot. Club 27(2): 88. 1900)

Named by Greene from a specimen given to him by Dr. George Vasey of Las Vegas, New Mexico. Native from New Mexico and Texas north into Alberta and Ontario, Canada and east to New York, and Massachusetts.
Distinguished from Rosa arkansana var. arkansana by stipular leaflets that stand up somewhat. "Suffulta" means supported, propped up in Latin.
