Origin:
Bred by Francis Dubreuil (France, 1896).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1904 as 'Général Billot'.
Class:
Tea.  
Bloom:
Purple and dark red.  Medium, double (17-25 petals) bloom form.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).

Notes:
Pierre Guillot states that 'Général Billot' is a descendant of 'Souvenir de David d'Angers'. Gravereaux placed it in the 'Comtesse de Labarthe'-group. - see References.
