Paul Néron Hybride Remontant. rose foncé. [Hybrid Perpetual. Dark pink.]

Page 177: Antoine Levet, of Lyons, France, gave the world 'Paul Neyron' in 1869, and the more choice but less-prevailing 'François Michelon' in 1871.
Page 180: Paul Neyron Hybrid Perpetual. 1869 'Anna de Diesbach' and 'Victor Verdier' ...almost without prickles... deep rose-pink with a dash of lilac, much like 'La Reine' but, point to point, bigger and more handsomely furnished... 'Paul Neyron' chooses to live long in old gardens and is likely to be met with almost anywhere. When you see the biggest rose you ever saw in an old garden, most likely it is 'Paul Neyron'.
