I read that Summer's Kiss is hardy to zone 7 but I see it is grown in several gardens that are much longer/colder zones than those in zone 7 are.  Do the people growing Summer's Kiss grow it in a container so it can be protected from the cold of winter or is this rose actually hardier than listed?
UPDATE Spring 2010---This rose continues to be an outstanding garden display rose. It had almost no die-back this Spring and is already 6' tall this early in the Spring. The bush is very vigorous growing and blooming and the lighter shade of green is very beautiful against the color of the blooms. This rose is in continuous bloom the entire year with about 25 roses on it at all time. I have it planted in a front bed right next to a Mother of Pearl rose and the two together look almost like twins and make an amazing display. The bloom and foliage colors are almost identical and if you were to plant several of each of these in a row it would make an impressive hedge. It has very few thorns which makes it easy to work with and it is so easy to care for it makes an excellent rose for novice rosarians to grow. I haven't seen any real disease problems or insect issues with it even though the color would be very attractive to thrips.
The blooms are large and very fragrant and have very good form for the most part. It has both single blooms and 4-6 bloom sprays that last a long time and are very impressive to look at.
If you need a good rose for a light pink/apricot display, you certainly wouldn't go wrong choosing this one or it's "twin" Mother of Pearl. I even think that some of the blooms of this rose could be used for exhibition purposes especially if you are looking for a good spray to enter. Cycle of Bloom would also be a good consideration for this one at the rose shows as well.
