E. F. Allen, Awards To New Rose Seedlings In Great Britain In 1982.
The Henry Edland Medal for fragrance and a Certificate of Merit went to Jack Harkness for his 'Paul Shirville' ('Compassion' x 'Mischief'), a cluster flowered rose with H.T. shaped blooms which are extremely strongly scented. Its colour is a two tone, pale vermilion, somewhat reminiscent of 'Miss Ireland'. It did not stand up well to very heavy rain at the end of June but makes a most attractive show in fair weather.
Book  (1982)  Page(s) 39.
