Notes:
Sometime in the 1970's, a hardy, single red rose was sold by Hortico under the name Scarlet Fire or Scarletfire. This is not the Kordes rose 'Scharlachglut,' although they both have single red blooms. There are no records that the rose sold at Hortico was bred within the AgCanada hardy roses program. Furthermore, the stamens of Scarlet Fire have yellow filaments, and the stamens of Morden 6910 have red filaments. This difference may be seen in the photographs on HMF.

According to Lynn Collicutt, former rose breeder at Morden, Henry Marshall told her that it was bred by Bert Harp at Morden, and it was at the Morden Station when Henry began breeding roses there. Bert Harp left no records, but we have a written record from Henry Marshall confirming that Harp was the breeder..
