Bred by Jacques Lebougre (France, before 1841).
Introduced in France by Victor Verdier et fils in 1841 as 'Proserpine'.

Bloom:

Crimson. Average diameter 3.25". Very double, in small clusters bloom form. Blooms in flushes throughout the season. Leafy sepals, rounded buds.

Habit:

Armed with thorns / prickles. Dark green foliage. 3 to 5 leaflets.

Growing:

USDA zone 5b through 10b.

Notes:
