Origin:
Bred by Francis Meilland (1912-1958) (France, before 1954).
Introduced in France by URS (Universal Rose Selection)-Meilland in 1956 as 'Baccará'.
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1957 as 'Baccará'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1958 as 'Baccará'.
Class:
Florists Rose, Hybrid Tea.  
Bloom:
Geranium-red, orange-red shading.  Mild fragrance.  45 to 82 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Medium, very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, cupped-to-flat bloom form.  Continuous (perpetual) bloom throughout the season.  Rounded buds.  
Habit:
Bushy, upright.  Dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: up to 3' (up to 90cm).  Width: up to 2' (up to 60cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 7b and warmer.  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.  Requires spring freeze protection (see glossary - Spring freeze protection) .
