From the photos, there seems to be 2 different roses. I grow the version I am see in the drawings and from Don H. The version that looks like Rosa rugosa is a dwarf, with large spines and prickled hips. The smoother version in the photos is nothing like mine at all. I wonder what happened???

R. pulverulenta, a low repent bush, usually 10-50 cm high, with pink (and rarely white) small flowers, each 10-20 mm in diameter, solitary or in clusters of 2-4 flowers; habitat: Azerbaijan, Gilān, Māzandarān, Lorestān, Isfahan, Qazvin, Tehran, Semnān, Gorgān (Ḵātamsāz, p. 59); also reported from Turkmenistan (Zieliński, p. 20).
