R. Watsoniana (Synytylae) Crépin 1887; Mutation of R. multiflora?; white to light pink, very small, single, myrtle-form, pointed clusters, 3 leaflets, finely marked, very slender and long foliage, climbing habit, low, spreading. Cultivated in Japan. Introduced by Sargent.

R. watsoni - Japan. A most peculiar form that had been dubbed by Dr. Van Fleet "The Bamboo Rose." The foliage does not look like any other rose, being so finely cut and irregular. A low compact bush with very small flowers that come and go unnoticed. A curious monstrosity! Not very hardy. Evidently, what hybridizers call a "chimera."
