Discovered by Unknown (before 1798).
Introduced in France by Cels frères in before 1798 as 'Rosa kamtchatica Vent. synonym'.
Class:
Hybrid Rugosa, Species Cross.  
Bloom:
Deep pink.  Mild fragrance.  Average diameter 2.25".  Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Spring or summer flush with scattered later bloom.  Rounded buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles.  Dark green foliage.  7 to 11 leaflets.  

Height: up to 7' (up to 215cm).  Width: up to 6' (up to 185cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 2a through 9b.
