Notes:
We have no early attributions of this rose to Vibert. See REFERENCES. He did name two Damask roses after Delphine Gay, and that may be why this rose was later attributed to him, but she was a well-known literary figure to whom other horticulturalists may have wanted to dedicate their plants.

Delphine de Girardin, née Gay (1804-1855), was a celebrated French writer whose pen name was Charles de Launay.
