‘Belle Amour’ = Gallicanae – Rosiers blancs.

....and the extraordinary ‘Ayreshire Splendens’.  I say extraordinary because this rose has an almost unique fragrance, found to a certain extent in the related R. Ruga, of Myrrh.  Since no true species has this fragrance I conclude it is the product of hybridity, like a new colour.  Strangely it is found in one old rose ‘Belle Amour’, and in the newer ‘Constance Spry’, ‘Pink Chiffon’ and one or two more.
