Origin:
Bred by Scipion Cochet (France, 1855).
Introduced in Australia by George Brunning - St. Kilda Nurseries in 1863 as 'Souvenir de la Reine d'Angleterre'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Carmine-pink.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 6".  Very large, double (17-25 petals), flat bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Light green foliage.  
Height of 39" to 4' 1" (100 to 125 cm).  Width of 6' 7" to 9' 10" (200 to 300 cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Vigorous.  
Notes:
Commemorates a visit to Paris undertaken by Queen Victoria in 1855...
