Bloom:
Light yellow, crimson streaks. 5 petals. Medium, single (4-8 petals), borne mostly solitary bloom form. Once-blooming spring or summer. Fragrant buds.
Habit:
Bushy, dense, well-branched. Medium, matte, dark green, fragrant foliage. 5 to 7 leaflets.
Growing:
Produces decorative hips.

Notes:
There are two roses named Canary Bird. The Canary Bird bred by W. Paul & Son) is a Sweet Briar and appears to grow only in Sangerhausen. See References. The Canary Bird in commerce is a hybrid of Rosa xanthina or Rosa hugonis.Modern Roses confuses the two roses, showing Paul as the breeder of the Hybrid Xanthina, when Paul introduced the Sweet Briar.
