At Kalbus in Altdorf/Germany I have found there is a new rose called Terenial blue, that is supposed to be like Veilchenblau, but blooms repeatetly.

My Veilchenblau has been in the ground for a year, It has gotten really large I was surprised to see that it has little buds started all over it. I live in St. Pete Florida, and we get very little chill time here so I am pleasantly surprised to see that it will be in bloom soon.

I planted a veilchenbalu rose last summer and it did not bloom and it seems to be thriving this spring with much new growth but no buds yet. When should I expect it to bloom in southern connecticut?

Many ramblers are very vigorous and will make long canes in a season at the expense of making flowers. It is not unsuual for a rambler to not bloom for a couple of years until the vigour decreases and it then puts it's energy into blooming.

whenever I can't get something to bloom I use 0-10-10 liquid form. It was recommeded to me by a local nursery and it works!
