Saw this rose blooming pretty a week before Memorial Day on sale at HomeDepot .. while Carefree Celebration and Tequila Supreme were still in buds. Lots of rain, but this rose stays healthy & pretty leaves. Came back to HomeDepot in 3 days, the many pots of this rose were sold out. Blooming early in zone 5a is impressive, and to have such healthy foliage in heavy rain is amazing. Knock-out is a bit gaudy, this rose has a nicer red in real-life.

Is the petal count very variable depending on temp?

This rose is offered through QVC.

Not sure we would want to list QVC on HelpMeFind as I imagine their inventory of specific plants is very short lived. No ?

I'm sure you're right. I'm not sure how long this promotion will run but I know those who have ordered recently and it appears to still be viable for now. I'm sure the same problem exists with Amazon or EBAY.

Come to think of it I would think you would have the same problem with any vendor? Very few offer year round or any variety indefinitely.

Well yes, but I'm thinking QVC inventory could often be limited to a few hours.

It's been there a few weeks already.

From what I understand, QVC will in order to get the price discounts on goods, commit to selling a certain quantity, but even once that's sold they will take orders as long as there is inventory.

They make it sound like they are selling out during their endorsement but that just means they sold as many as they originally contracted for. It doesn't mean they don't still have inventory if they get an order.

Do as you like. I'm just trying to explain that they are continuing to take orders. I assume they will as long as there is back up inventory to supply callers.

Thanks, Robert

Thank you for taking the time to explain how they operate; I'm not that familiar with QVC. Thanks Robert.

What I find interesting is that QVC ran this promotion before Valentine's Day but at least half the country still won't be able to plant anything out for several more weeks if not longer.

Apparently they ship them in stages for different growing zones.

I know bareroot suppliers and the like do the same but one wouldn't think it of QVC. Apparently they do.

Thanks for all you do. Robert

They have some great pictures of your rose on the QVC site. Absolutely beautiful!

Rob, QVC doubled their order from last year so apparently the promotion went very well.

It's fascinating to watch how retail is evolving. Who would have thought even the plant business has turned into such a mail order phenomenon?

QVC is an excellent way to market I believe. People are sitting in front of their TV and up pops your rose. No searching for a supplier needed. Whatever they are promoting usually sells out. And with Smart TVs now, you can order right from your TV remote. Congrats!

Thanks Rob. That was a nice surprise and certainly unexpected. Competition was stiff.

Certified Roses picked it up and It's doing well. It was recently offered through QVC and the first shipment to Lowes Home Improvement stores went out in TX last week.

It performs very well own-root which is a big plus.

I'm enjoying your postings. Some look very promising.

Best wishes, Robert

That's great news Robert. I wish you much success with this one. I will have to pick one of these up and combine it with some of my own. Thank you for your comment.

Regards,

Rob
