Bred by Ralph S. Moore (United States, 1988).

Class:

Hybrid Soulieana, Moss - Modern.

Bloom:

Light pink. Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals) bloom form. Occasional repeat later in the season.

Habit:

Medium, arching, armed with thorns / prickles, bushy, climbing, dense.

Height: up to 5' (up to 150cm).

Growing:

Very vigorous. a good subject for pegging. can be grown as a shrub. can be trained as a climber. flowers drop off cleanly. heat tolerant.

Notes:

This is a remarkable rose Ralph Moore created along his journey to create his idea of the perfect crested rose. It is remarkable in that in the milder California climates, it blooms year round in large clusters. The foliage is dark green, dense and very healthy. The cresting factor is often sufficiently expressed to actually alter the stipules into small leaflets, like feathers. The sepals are crested, but not sufficiently enough for Mr. Moore to select as one of his Crested Roses. It has an amazing, sweet, pervasive fragrance. It propagates very easily own root, grows wonderfully own root and will, hopefully, eventually become a favorite in gardens as it has been in the very few gardens Mr. Moore tested it in. The synonym, Dawn Crest, is complements of Jeri Jennings, who has loved this rose in her garden for many years.
