Breeder's notes:
Padmasambhava was a very famous Buddhist monk of the early 8th century C.E, who is considered by many to be the Second Buddha and who is said to have traveled to China, Tibet and Bhutan. In fact in Bhutan he is worshipped with great devotion as Guru Rinpoche and many stupas are dedicated to him. His name means Lotus Born and as this rose looks like a large lotus we thought of naming it for this monk whose name is so harmonious sounding. Padmasambhava bears huge lotus form flowers with broad petals in a subtle shades of pink and apricot The unique combination of extra vigor, but surprisingly moderate size of plant makes this eminently suited for today’s garden, even in the warmer parts of India and other areas of the world.
