Origin:
Bred by Joseph-Marin Laperrière (1846-1927) (France, before 1908).
Introduced in France by Roseraie Laperrière in 1908 as 'Château de Gros-Bois'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1910 as 'Château de Gros-Bois'.
Class:
Noisette.  
Bloom:
Golden-yellow, copper shading.  Medium, semi-double (9-16 petals), borne mostly solitary, in small clusters bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  Long buds.  
Habit:
Armed with thorns / prickles, climbing.  Glossy, light green foliage.  

Height: up to 8'2" (up to 250cm).
