Bred by Unknown (before 1835).
Introduced in France by Jean-Pierre Vibert in before 1837 as 'Lamarque'.
Class:
Hybrid China.  
Bloom:
Violet-red, dark purple shading, vermilion shading.  Moderate fragrance.  Average diameter 3".  Medium to large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  Once-blooming spring or summer.  
Habit:
Large, glossy foliage.
