A most floriferous rose (almost unbelievable, freakish)
in in Los Angeles. Huge, petal packed
blooms, big clusters. I bought it despite the weak scent which almost never happens amongst my multiple hundreds of rose purchases. See my photos for verification.

My opinion it has none scent, wondering 4 parents of this rose have strong fragrance. But beautiful color and perfectly form, disease resistant too.

Mine also has almost no scent and the same for this rose in a neighbor's yard. I even use organic fertilizer which usually helps them smell good. Perhaps it is one of those that need cold Winters; we have moderate Winters.

Interesting, thank you. Always great to learn how plant behave in different parts of the world.

Love Song has no fragrance for cold-zoners either. So I don't buy it.

I don't either for the same reason. But I've seen incredibly pictures of this one though!

Crossing fragrant parents often results in a nothingburger fragrance. It's just the way it is. This rose has such nice color, plant size, plant architecture, and foliage. Yet, the no fragrance for this color, and the non-descript form, really bar me from getting this rose.

I am hoping a descendent that resolves these issues crops up in the future.

Violet's Pride is a winner with lavender color.

Unfortunately, VP goes naked by August in my area. I considered trying out Sweet Madame Blue, its sister, but was waiting for further comments by other rosarians. J/P had a few nice mauves (like Perfume Perfection) before it became what it is today, but the color was often that dull tone some mauves have that I hate.

I'm a scent fanatic, so I was never interested based on the description of "none to mild" scent. However this year I inherited one from my mother in law when her husband passed (it was "their" rose). Even though I still haven't noticed any scent, the bush is fully clothed in dark green lusterous foliage, has good form, and the clear lavender purple flowers kept blooming since April (and are still blooming)! They also have stayed packed with petals and kept their beautiful form thru the heat. And in my no-spray garden, the new Chilli Thrips plague didn't seem to bother them as much as other roses. This rose definitely won me over; it is beautiful! If you love lavender roses, I would recommend it.
