'Cläre Alexander' rose Description

Bloom:
Pink blend. Strong fragrance. Average diameter 4.75". Medium-large, double (17-25 petals), in large clusters bloom form. Moderate, blooms in flushes throughout the season. Medium buds.
Habit:
Tall, upright. Medium, semi-glossy, dark green foliage.
Height: up to 5¾' (up to 175cm).
Growing:
USDA zone 6b and warmer. Can be used for garden. Hardy. vigorous. Disease susceptibility: disease resistant, blackspot resistant, mildew resistant, rust resistant. Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood.. Can be pruned to maintain a shorter habit. Needs little care; relatively disease-free and quite hardy.
Breeder's notes:
Breed in 2009 and planted outside same year on own roots. Cläre Alaxander has managed 3 winters with temperatures down -20 Celsius with some spruce branches as only protection. The colors of the flowers are more intense reddish/vermilion as Alexander in the first flowering. Later in the season the color change to a more pinker blend. Foliage is solid and nearly without signs of disease all season.
