Hybrid Multiflora, Hybrid Wichurana.  

Culled 19th of November.

This cross was done purely to see whether the variegations on R. multiflora var. watsoniana would pass on to its offspring. This seedling is showing lots of multiflora features but no variegation. I was also curious to find out if the variegation on watsoniana might pass on, as though it was caused by a virus, to the seed parent. The seed parent is also not showing any signs of a possible infection. If the variegations are caused by a virus it does not appear to be transmitted by pollen or be inheritable.
