Bred by M. Samson (France, 1861).
Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'Comtesse de Séguier'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Red, violet shading.  Large, full (26-40 petals), expanded , globular bloom form.  
Growing:
Very vigorous.
