Origin:
Bred by Eugène Verdier fils aîne (France, 1861).
Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'Eugène Bourcier'.
Class:
Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Crimson, purple shading, darker outer petals.  Bright crimson shaded with very dark purple.  Medium to large, semi-double to double, cupped, globular bloom form.  Occasional repeat later in the season.  
Growing:
Vigorous.
