Introduced in Australia by Joseph Harris, South Yarra Nurseries in 1865 as 'Madame Valembourg'.

Hybrid Perpetual.  
Bloom:
Purple, violet shading.  Large, full (26-40 petals), cupped bloom form.  
Growing:
Vigorous.
