Can be used for garden.  Drought resistant.  heat tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: disease resistant.  Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood..  Do not spray.  Feed this rose well.  Prune lightly or not at all.
Breeder's notes:
Culled mid-summer 2020 due to blight. This plant is in many of my downstream crosses.

Reference Code 88. Flowers more like a fruit tree than a rose. Very early, very close to the old cane with very little accompanying foliage. After flowering the plant covers itself with lush growth from down low. Very odd - and endearing. When growing well it is one of my favourite plants. Pollen is viable and I have several 2nd gen hybrids coming along now - two of which are repeat flowering. Not eager to set hips.
Patents:
Patent status unknown (to HelpMeFind).
Notes:
"Argyle" is a study name for this seedling. All seedlings in the current breeding pool from 2007 through 2010 are given a study name based on a Texas town/city starting with the letter 'A'.
