R. parviflora It has been linked in some books with R. gallica or the Provins Rose, though now we find it amongst the Centifolias. Illustrated by Redouté. 'Pompon de Burgogne,' 'Pompon de St Francis,' 'Pompon de Rheims'. There are two forms: one growing to 18 inches in height and the other being a little taller.

Miniature Roses. Burgundica (Gallica). Small double flowers 1 in., solitary, early, Tyrian pink and deeper tones. Pedicels hairy, hip smooth, styles free. Calyx slightly longer, rarely winged, downy. Leaves five, dark green, narrow, downy below. Growth very compact and upright. Most authors are agreed as to the name of this variety: it is the R. parviflora of Lindley. Figures in Redoute, Willmott and Andrews.
