Vibert, France, 1830. Parentage unknown. Flowers: double, pale pink blooms striped purplish-crimson changing with age to a pleasing mixture of lavendar and purple. Arching stems. Short. 3' x 3'.

Camaieux  (1830). This is one of the best striped roses and always excites comment when in flower.  It has a striking combination of white, crimson, pink, lilac, and grey at different stages. Sometimes not a robust plant, grows to about a metre or so.

Tess Allan.  Gallica Roses.
Camaieux. one of the three striped gallica roses I grow is a dwarf bush not nearly as vigorous as 'Rosa Mundi', and thus it needs good soil. The double flowers have blush petals splashed and striped with carmine changing to lilac and in hot, sunny weather, the stripes fade to purple and grey as the petals turn white.

One of the glories of the striped varieties. Small growth, with shapely but few-petalled flowers giving a startling and beautiful effect. They are blush pink, heavily striped and splashed with vivid tyrian rose, turning with age to remarkable violet-grey. Very fragrant. 3' x 2'. Superlative quality.
