An absoluut "sleeping beauty" shrub - no prince (thief or dog for that matter) could get through these thorns! Makes a perfect "protection hedge".

Just starting. I love that it keeps going in flushes until the cold stops it. It never seems to get sick either, just a few aphids. It would make a wonderful burglar barrier!

Our garden in Hamburg, Germany (Z8a), 2012-07-15, first blossom on another cutting from the same plant, but this picture is taken in the sun, making the flower look significantly redder than I see it. Hard to get red shades right on rose photos.

Bingo Meidiland just coming into bloom, July 4th, 2012. Hokkaido, Japan. I put a couple of photos up of this plant in 2008 and in four years it's gotten huge. I love the flowers and the way it blooms and blooms but.... the thorns are awful. The lighter, fuller roses entangled with it are Fantin Latour.

Our garden in Hamburg, Germany (Z8a), 2012-07-15, same plant as below, first blossom. This picture is taken in the shadow, making the flower look maybe a tad bluer than I see it, but it's much closer to the actual colour, I think, than the next photo.
