Rosa acicularis. Natural habitat on Bogd Khan Uul mountains about 2000m altitude south of Ulan Bator, Mongolia. Dense but but not very high undergrowth under pine/larch forest. Edelweiss in foreground. Some, but not all roses show coloured leaves. Rose bud on left side margin. Rose bushes are normally 10-30cm high. August 25th 2016
