'Climbing General MacArthur' late spring, Perth, Western Australia, looking paler in the photo than it does to the eye. I love the characteristic way the blooms of this rose open. The outer petals flip from concave to convex in a most decisive way, so at this stage, we see the outer petals curving back, the central cup of petals still upstanding - a 'cup and saucer' effect.
Thanks to Patricia Routley for this rose and to Mrs. Sheila Gravett, who knew the names of her roses and from whose garden Patricia collected it.
Budded onto Fortuniana by Peter Ellis.
