The color is rosy crimson. The bush illustrated is growing in Mr Simpson's garden at Surrey Hills. It contains a greater amount of matured wood in first-class condition than is usually met with. The bush was pruned on June 19 by Mr Simpson. Special photographs of it were taken before and after the operation, for the purpose of illustrating this article. Mr Simpson is regarded as one of the leading rosarians in the State and his pruning work on the bush may be regarded as an expert object lesson."
