It is a type that we have been looking forward to for years and which will fill a great need. Sentinel is a hardy, ever blooming shrub Rose. It blooms as much or more than most Hybrid Teas but it is as hardy as a shrub. The blossom is a velvety crimson about the shade of Red Radiance. It is large, double, fragrant and the petals hold for a long time but drop off cleanly. The bush is a vigorous grower, producing the large blossoms singly or in threes at the top of long, strong stems. The buds are ovoid and the blooms are composed of 42 large, broad petals. Sentinel is the variety that was presented to the American Rose Society by Allister Clark of Australia who originated the Rose.
