By any chance, do we know what month in 1822 this plate was published?--or, more to the point, what month in 1822 the text to this plate was written by Andrews?

I am afraid not. The fascicle numbers are from Trattinick. No. 39 is definitely 1822, and no. 40 possibly. Could be second half of 1822. I seem to remember having seen somewhere a chronology of publications in England, but have lost the link.

Thanks very much--"Could be second half of 1822" is actually exactly what I need to know: It means that Andrews' "only last spring" probably means spring 1822 rather than 1821.
