Take a look at RESOURCES / GLOSSARY / PROLIFERATION and then look at the photos there. The cause is a bit of a mystery - I’ve read that trees can cause it, but I really don’t know if that is correct. I’ve had it on ‘Fishermans Friend’ fairly close to some Sequoias.
