'Lady Ann Kidwell' is the large, round bush in the center of this photo. It is about 6 ft. tall now.

Note pruning instructions tell you to remove about 1/3 of the growth at pruning in a mild climate garden. But note that YOU REALLY DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT.

This plant is what you get if "pruning" is restricted to the removal of any dead canes. It blooms throughout the year, drops worn foliage by itself, and has no disease issues in my mild, increasingly-dry Coastal Southern California garden.
