KORDES PERFECTA la pièce 7,20 F les dix 69 F
Book  (1967)

p134.  Dr. H. R. Elphick.  What Are We Looking For In The New Roses?
'Karl Herbst'....Its progeny, Kordes 'Perfecta' and now 'Kordes Perfecta Superior' must have brought the house of Kordes great joy.  These varieties are delicate blends of pink and white, even more perfect in shape, with more petals than their crimson parent, to whose beauty and perfection many champion awards bear witness.  Yet again the burning sun or even chilly cold plays havoc with their delicate fabric, and the bruising and shrivelling of the outer petals impair many a bloom.

'Kordes Perfecta Superior'.  Not as large as Kordes 'Perfecta' but similar form and growth.  Colour bright pink.

Mr. R. T. Hamilton, Heidelberg, Victoria.
I have great difficulty in filling this last position.  After much haggling with myself, I give it to 'Pink Perfecta'This is a deep pink sport of Kordes 'Perfecta'.  I think it can fairly be said that 95 per cent of the people who bought Kordes 'Perfecta' have been disappointed with it, because of its blotchy colour.  Nevertheless, for an exhibitor who cares to grow it for the occasional glorious blooms it produces, Kordes 'Perfecta' is worth while.  In 'Pink Perfecta' the pink colour is suffused much more evenly throughout the whole bloom than is the case with Kordes 'Perfecta', and a far larger percentage of good blooms is produced.

p17.  Dr. A. S. Thomas:  'Condesa de Mayalde'. (In) 'Kordes Perfecta', the carmine is paler, and more suffused, while the background is more cream than white....while it will vie with 'Kordes' Perfecta' in form, as judged on early blooms.

Kordes' Perfecta (Kordes): Believe there has been enough written about this rose.  When it is good you cannot beat it. Has a tendency to "candelabra".

p73.  H. K. Cresswell.  Growing Roses in Brisbane
Kordes' Perfecta has not yet justified the publicity which preceded its arrival. Growth is strong and clean with a moderate number of flowers. Colour and form vary greatly; many blooms are first class, but others gross and irregular in shape, with ugly buds. The colour probably depends on the soil and feeding; some blooms we have seen as a creamy white, with little pink, but others, especially when fully open, have colours even more brilliant than the catalogues have shown. We have not yet quite made up our minds about this variety.

Harry H. Hazlewood. Some New Roses For 1958.
Kordes' Perfekta HT. (Kordes 1957). In 1955 Mr. Sam McGredy, visiting the nursery of Wilhelm Kordes, "ran across what I can only describe as a wonder rose". A cream rose with a reddish pink flush at the edge of each petal, this exhibition quality seedling will surely rank alongside 'Mme. A. Meilland', 'Ena Harkness' and 'Mrs. Sam McGredy' as one of the great roses of our time. Such a tribute from such a rosarian is praise of the highest order. It should, however, be pointed out that the natural impression is that reddish pink is the dominant colour and the "cream" in the lower part of the petal. Colour varies but is at its peak in autumn. This is a particularly robust, healthy grower with profuse blooms of the highest exhibition and garden standard and has had extended trial in Australia.   Its parentage is given as 'Karl Herbst' x 'Spek's Yellow'.  Going a generation back, 'Karl Herbst' comes from 'Kordes' Sondermeldung' x 'Mme. A. Meilland', and from this background one could only expect a rose of outstanding quality. In deference to the raiser the original title is given, but in some lists it is printed as 'Perfecta'.
