There are three more floribundas in the award list I haven't mentioned yet..... Sam McGredy's Mary Sumner in orange-salmon..... 'Mary Sumner' is the healthiest bush imaginable, and it would be ideal used as a trouble-free plant for the back of the border as it has shrub proportions.

The orange salmon blooms are borne on a healthy upright plant remarkable for the sheer brilliance of its glossy bronze-green foliage, borne in super abundance.

Only one Certificate of Merit was given and this was won by a 5ft tall floribunda Mary Sumner; (Orangeade x Margot Fonteyn) x [Elizabeth of Glamis x (Little Darling x Goldilocks)] by Sam McGredy. This has scarlet (RHS-43C) 20-petalled small flowers, excellent glossy foliage and it repeats well. It received a T.G.C. in 1973.

('Orangeade' x 'Margot Fonteyn') x ['Elizabeth of Glamis' x ('Little Darling'x 'Goldilocks')]. Bloom: orange salmon, moderately full (23 petals), slightly fragrant, borne several together and in trusses. Growth: very vigorous, tall and upright. Foliage: glossy, medium green, bronzed when young. (See illustration facing p. 16.)
