Origin:
Bred by Marie-Louise (Louisette) Meilland (Paolino) (1920-1987) (France, before 1983).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1985.
Class:
Climber, Large-Flowered Climber.  
Bloom:
Yellow, red blending.  None to mild fragrance.  Average diameter 4.25".  Very full (41+ petals), borne mostly solitary, cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Arching, bushy, climbing, few or no prickles/thorns, well-branched.  Large, glossy, dark green, leathery foliage.  

Height: 3' to 18' (90 to 550cm).  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for cut flower, landscape or pillar.  Very vigorous.  heat tolerant.

Parentage information is taken from the US Patent for this rose which also says that in America Spectra grows like a climber, but in Antibes (where it was raised) it grows like a Hybrid Tea.
