Bred by Jacques-Julien Margottin père (1817-1892) (France, 1851).
Introduced in Australia by John J. Rule, Victoria Nursery in 1858 as 'Louise Odier'.

Bourbon.  

Deep pink.  Strong fragrance.  28 to 56 petals.  Average diameter 3".  Large, very full (41+ petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters, cupped, quartered bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Compact.  
Height of 39" to 10' (100 to 305 cm).  Width of up to 4' (up to 120 cm).

USDA zone 5b through 10b.  Can be used for cut flower or garden.  Hardy.  vigorous.  does not do well in warmer climates.  shade tolerant.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to blackspot .
