Bred by Mathias Tantau (1882 - 1953) (Germany, 1947).
Introduced in United States by Jackson & Perkins Co. in 1951 as 'Garnette'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in 1954 as 'Garnette'.

Floribunda, Florists Rose, Polyantha.  

Dark red.  Mild fragrance.  50 petals.  Double (17-25 petals), cupped bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  

Height of 16" to 2' (40 to 60 cm).  Width of up to 2' (up to 60 cm).

USDA zone 6b and warmer.  Disease susceptibility: susceptible to Mildew.  Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that.
