Bred by Jan De Vink (Netherlands, 1949).
Introduced in United States by Conard-Pyle (Star Roses) in 1949 as 'Red Elf'.
Introduced in Australia by Hazlewood Bros. Pty. Ltd. in before 1958 as 'Red Elf'.
Class:
Miniature.  
Bloom:
Crimson.  Mild fragrance.  23 petals.  Average diameter 1".  Small, double (17-25 petals), cluster-flowered, in small clusters bloom form.  Blooms in flushes throughout the season.  
Habit:
Short, bushy.  Small foliage.  
Growing:
USDA zone 6b through 9b (default).  Can be used for beds and borders, container rose or garden.  Vigorous.
