My plant of Prairie Dawn took several years to mature because of tough growing conditions. Grass nearly crowded it out one year and it accidently got mowed once or twice by my children. I just about decided that it would never amount to anything because my health (cancer) had prevented my caring for it. But finally it began to grow and it is now a marvelous plant that towers over my head by three or four feet which is much more than the height given for it as five feet. This year it had not only it's usual wonderful color but two branches sported to a soft pinkish white. I'm taking cuttings of them in hopes they will grow. Does anyone know of a recorded sport of Prairie Dawn? I have had nearly five hundred varieties of roses through the years because I made a business out of drying flowers for several years, but I think this plant of Prairie Dawn has become the most beautiful rose on the entire place as well as being the tallest which is appreciated in our tough climate. It has also bloomed nearly all the time since early summer. Based on this one plant I would sure give Prairie Dawn a hearty recommendation.
