Rosa Rugosa Rubra. The original "species" wild Rose from Japan. Fine for massing or hedges; absolutely hardy. Vigorous, very spiny, with rough, wrinkled foliage. Flowers are large, five-petaled, and very fragrant, varying from bright pink to deep carmine, with big golden centers. It blooms very early, and continues al summer, leaving behind a wealth of enormous seed-hips like little apples. $1 each.
