My RVR "Mel's Heritage" turned out to be some kind of red blooming wichuriana. My "New Dawn" bloomed purple, so obviously mislabeled. That one, especially, wasted so much of my time planning, watering, tending to it only to have it turn out to be totally and utterly useless to me, as purple doesn't work in my garden :(

I'm so glad I ordered a backup Mel's Heritage from Paul Barden, back when he offered some of his roses on a limited basis. To the surprise of no one, Paul's rose came true to the label :) I would have been crushed if my only "Mel's Heritage" was a random mislabeled rose instead. Paul saved the day!

Can anyone post a picture of a bud with sepals? I have had it suggested that my rose is Contrast but I have concerns that the bristly feathery sepals are not consistent with Contrast.
