I had so much success with my first sweet delight that I bought 5 mores las year. All of them ( the new 5 additions ) Always have black spot . The first one that I have for more than 4 years I Never saw any black spot on it . All of them (6) are in the same soil and they received same fertilizing traitement ,. same watering frequency . Is it possible that in the same species but from two different distributors.. there could be so much difference on the gene of protection from black spot .My 5 new additions are in there second year , if they don't improved I will get rid of them . I though the gene of protection from black spot were link to hybritre .species , it seems it is more complexe .. It seems that within the same specie there is a Lot of variation . To give a little more info , the flowers of all the six Sweet Delight look the same and smell the same , But I can notice that the leave Don't look the same at all ... the one with never black spot has more thick leaves and are more shiny , the other 5 has thin leaves not shiny...

To say, that this rose is moderately fragrant is a bit of a stretch. I have discerned no scent, even when the rose is in fool bloom. But then maybe my variety is senseless. And I thought I had keen sense of scent. :)

I agree, no scent on mine either. In all other ways, this is a most satisfactory garden plant.

Yes. it's magnificent, especially in fall. But I would rate its scent, on the intro page, as mild to none at all. :)

The parentage is simply Graham Thomas x Davidoff, the same as Versigny’s according to my private communication with the Breeder Dominique Massad. Please correct this information.

I was so stoked to find this at Walmart this spring, but it appears I may have gotten a yellow rose with pink/red edges. Maybe pinata? I think they were selling that one as well. I'm very disappointed as I really like the oddities and uncommon roses.

I have given up on big box roses because they almost never are what they claim to be. The Mr. Lincoln I pampered through our cold winter bloomed. Pink. A rather undistinguished pink at that.
