I rashly bought this rose a few years ago because I love striped roses even though I knew it was very prone to blackspot. It was a disaster in the garden, losing all its leaves in June and remaining that way for the duration of the season with hardly a single further bloom. So I potted it in a 20lt pot and placed it against a sunny wall with a large 2m x 1.5m sheet of glass covering it, scavenged from a neighbour who had their conservatory rebuilt. It grew only very slightly better despite a lot of love and care and feeding. But, what was interesting was that behind glass the stripes retained their strong purple colour but the light mauve back ground colour changed to pure white. I have plenty of land and don't often get rid of plants, there is always some corner where they can be tucked away but this rose I think is going to be relocated to the bonfire.

this is one of my favorite roses. along with its incredible coloring, it blooms like it's going out of style, and has a nice scent as well.
unfortunately, someone came to my house and chopped it all to pieces. i'm hoping it'll grow back.

Same problem here, gets horrible blackspot and spends most of the time defoliated. spraying does not seem to change much either, quite a problem rose here.
